TESTIMONIALS (Page in Progress)

My name is Casey Shannon and I am honored to be part of the HCI (Hawaii Canines for Independence) family. I recently graduated with my new service dog, Gabe. He is my constant companion and the best service dog ever. I have had the privilege of partnering with two previous service dogs and Gabe is the star. Gabe and I have a regular morning routine. He gets my leg brace and shoes, retrieves my cell phone, and delivers the mail so we can start our day. If I need my cane, he finds it and brings it to me. He patiently wears his harness that helps support me so I can walk. Gabe opens every door for me and if I drop anything, Gabe gets it almost before it hits the ground! We are known as the “dynamic duo” at my work and in our community. When we are out working together, we never fail to get a wave and a smile. Gabe is a happy guy and lots of fun too. He lifts my spirits every day. We play a lot of ball and take numerous scooter rides for exercise. When the day is done, he curls up in bed next to me with his head on my chest for a well-earned snooze. Gabe is ‘magic’ and ‘love’ all wrapped up in beautiful red fur with a jaunty wag of a tail and a big slobbery kiss. He also has sparkling brown eyes that ask, “How can I help?” Gabe truly is my precious “Angel Gabriel!”
